Rocky Mount, NC – The Rocky Mount Police Department released new details about a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the 2100 block of Benvenue Road, resulting in one man dead and several others injured. Authorities confirmed that 24-year-old Kedar Darden, a Rocky Mount resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting took place around 6:00 a.m. when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the residential area. Upon arrival, police discovered multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The scene was immediately secured, and emergency services provided medical attention to the injured.
Four additional individuals were injured in the incident. Among them were two women, aged 27 and 28, and two men, aged 24 and 32. Three of the victims have since been released from medical care, while the 32-year-old male remains hospitalized in fair condition.
