LUBBOCK, Texas — Vigil Turns Violent as 18-Year-Old Camryn Giselle Arrested Following Disturbance, Dies Short Chaos
LUBBOCK, Texas — A peaceful vigil in memory of Charlie Kirk quickly descended into chaos when 18-year-old Camryn Giselle allegedly disrupted the event, leaving several mourners shaken and prompting police intervention.
The gathering, initially organized to honor the life of Kirk, was intended as a quiet remembrance attended by family, friends, and local residents. Witnesses said the atmosphere shifted dramatically when Giselle entered the service and began shouting aggressively.
Attendees reported that Giselle repeatedly chanted inflammatory statements, including references to the recent death, while moving aggressively toward individuals asking her to leave. Her behavior created a tense and unsafe environment for those present.
Several participants described feeling threatened as Giselle allegedly shoved multiple attendees, including an elderly veteran and a young mother holding her child. The incident sparked fear among the crowd and forced some mourners to retreat for safety.
In addition to physical confrontations, witnesses said Giselle accused attendees of racism when confronted and hurled insults at those honoring Kirk. She reportedly referred to mourners as “fascists,” heightening tensions during the vigil.

Giselle was taken into custody at 2625 15th Street without further incident. Law enforcement confirmed that she was booked on multiple charges, including three counts of assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
Court records indicate that Giselle is being held in advance of her scheduled appearance on September 15, 2025. Authorities are pursuing the legal process in accordance with the seriousness of the alleged actions.
Texas Tech University officials confirmed that the student is also facing expulsion proceedings due to her involvement in the incident. The university emphasized its commitment to maintaining safety and order on campus.
