Authorities reported that several residents had gathered outdoors to enjoy a communal crab feast, a cherished local tradition, when the peaceful evening was shattered by the sudden sound of gunfire. According to Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley, the gunfire came without warning from an unknown suspect. Among the six victims was a 5-year-old girl who sustained a gunshot wound to her hand. “Thankfully, her injury does not appear to be life-threatening,” Commissioner Worley said. “However, the fact that such a young child was hurt is deeply disturbing to us all.” The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover physically.
