NASHUA, N.H. — A devastating shooting during a wedding celebration at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua left one man passes away and multiple others injured, sending shockwaves through the local community and prompting a swift law enforcement response late Saturday evening.
Authorities identified the victim as 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare, who was attending the reception with family and friends. The attack abruptly ended a joyous occasion, leaving loved ones and wedding guests in disbelief over the sudden violence.
New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke confirmed that 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Additional charges related to the wounded victims are expected as the investigation continues.
Investigators reported that Nadeau entered the wedding wearing a mask and drew attention by raising his middle finger at guests while shouting political statements, including “Free Palestine” and “the children are safe,” before opening fire. DeCesare was fatally struck during the shooting, while two other adults sustained injuries. Medical personnel quickly transported the wounded to nearby hospitals, where officials described their conditions as serious but stable. Authorities have not yet released the names of the surviving victims.
Officials stated that there is no known prior connection between Nadeau and DeCesare. The motive for the attack remains under investigation, leaving law enforcement officials focused on uncovering the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
Guests at the wedding recounted scenes of terror as the gunfire erupted. Many fled in fear while others attempted to assist the wounded. First responders arrived within minutes, providing medical attention and securing the venue to prevent further harm.
