NORTH CODORUS TOWNSHIP, PA — At least three York County police officers tragically died Wednesday afternoon during the service of a warrant near 1879 Harr Road, with multiple others wounded in the violent confrontation. Authorities confirmed that the suspect later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene.
The shooting occurred around 2:10 p.m. in this rural community, located approximately 115 miles west of Philadelphia, near the Maryland border. Officers from multiple agencies were executing a warrant when the suspect opened fire, striking five officers, three fatally.
Emergency responders acted swiftly to aid the injured. Several medevac helicopters were deployed to transport critically wounded officers to trauma centers. WellSpan York Hospital reported treating multiple patients in serious condition and enacted heightened security protocols due to the severity of the incident.
Law enforcement officials briefed the press, confirming that three officers died at the scene while at least two others remain in grave condition. The identities of the deceased officers and the suspect have not yet been released.
